Vive da sola e considera il suo appartamento un rifugio perfetto. Un giorno però, a causa di un imprevisto, compaiono dei buchi nella parete del suo appartamento che lo mettono in comunicazione con le stanze dei suoi due vicini. Da un lato c'è Satsuki, gentile e premuroso, dall'altro Usada, dal carattere più duro e impulsivo ma stranamente familiare per Rinko. Questa inattesa vicinanza trasforma la sua routine in una serie di situazioni imbarazzanti e divertenti, che la costringono a uscire dal suo guscio e a confrontarsi con nuove emozioni. La nuova convivenza forzata porta Rinko a vivere momenti teneri e comici con i suoi vicini, spingendola a capire meglio se stessa e i propri sentimenti.
